The NFL's - Child Abuse - Domestic Violence - Poster Boys: Adrian Peterson and Ray Rice

The Hate Ray Rice Bandwagon rolled on all week out of control, it seemed, until the Adrian Peterson scandal broke and now, it's stopped dead in its tracks. The outpouring of media instigated hate towards Ray Rice is just unbelievably sick!. Coming from all directions, even President Obama felt the need to add to the swirling, chaotic mess of ignorance by saying...'Hitting a woman is not something a real man does'- Obama. Where are all of the famous voices and fellow players who said Ray should be in jail and said he should not be allowed to play in the NFL, where are these voices now that Adrian Peterson is in the news for having done even worse? Will Peterson's career be ruined? Will he have his contract terminated by the Vikings immediately? Will he be suspended indefinitely from the NFL? Will he get treated the same as Ray Rice or more severely? This is not a one time incident with Peterson, this is what all his kids get and will get, whooped more times than he can count, with tree branches, belts or cords, while stripped bare.

Let's take a closer look. According to the Police Reports, the young boy in question says that his Daddy hit him in the face. The young boy also expressed worry that Daddy would punch him in the face again if he reported the incident. He also said that he had been hit with a belt and that “there are a lot of belts in Daddy’s closet and that Daddy, put leaves in his mouth when he was being hit with the switch while his pants were down. The child told his mother that Daddy “likes belts and switches” and “has a whooping room.” Peterson very calm, when speaking about the incident, obviously believing he had done no wrong, said to Police that the marks on his son would be the same as any marks his other children will get when he whoops them. “To be honest with you, I feel very confident with my actions because I know my intent.” He went on to describe the incident as a “normal whooping.” With regards to the injuries/marks on the child’s buttocks and legs, he he said he felt bad immediately when he saw the injuries on the child’s legs. Peterson estimated he “swatted” his son “10 to 15” times, but he’s not sure because he doesn’t “ever count how many pops I give my kids.” The beating allegedly resulted in numerous injuries to the child, including cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the child’s hands. Peterson then texted the boy’s mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her mad at me about his leg. “I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.” The doctor that examined the child said the injuries were consistent with child abuse and that it appeared the child had injuries from more than one incident. Adrian Peterson, indicted by a grand jury in Montgomery County, Texas for Felony Child Abuse Injury to a Child and is currently free on bail/bond of $15,000. Now personally I like pro-football and college football, but I despise and completely loathe Roger (go to hell) Goodell and the whole NFL organization. They suspend one guy for a whole year for testing positive of Marijuana and suspend Ray Rice at first for two games. They said they got it wrong and have since suspended Ray indefinitely, a punishment after the case was resolved. Issuing additional punishment after the fact is ridiculous. Does this mean you can punish others after their cases have been resolved/settled. The idea of this is VERY disturbing! Now you have an even more serious issue at hand. Ray Rice's domestic violence case was resolved months ago and since that time, Ray and his girlfriend have married. They seem to be OK, until the media and NFL stirred the whole mess up again. Even more serious than Ray Rice's transgressions are those of Adrian Peterson, Minnesota's Golden Boy #28. All-star and All-Pro Adrian Peterson, arrested and out on-bail, indicted for Felony Child Abuse, resulting in injury, has been deactivated for this Sundays game. One of my biggest complaints is the inconsistent rulings the NFL makes. Certain players such as Ndamukong Suh get max fines and penalties and suspensions while others don't. At present there are three cases being investigated concerning domestic abuse in the NFL. The NFL is polluted with doped up athletic specimen with lower than average intelligence. They are heralded as hero's for your kids to worship and admire because of their athletic ability and on the field accomplishments. Making hero's for you and your children is the main business of the NFL, because not every team can win the Super Bowl and some teams will never win and there's still a few teams that have never even appeared in a Super Bowl. It's a tough sport with a great history that the league continues to ruin in subtle ways. The main business of this NFL National Football League is to create and promote hero's for fans to worship. Why, might you ask? The answer is simple... Hero's make money! That is the bottom line and that is what this league cares about most! Look at the number of jersey's fans buy and wear. Look at how much they charge for autographs, look at all the merchandise that is made and sold. Don't be angry with Ray Rice or Adrian Peterson for being human beings. You should be angry with yourself for looking up to these no-class uneducated athletes. You really should be more upset with yourself for admiring so much persons who are NOT great, but just human. You should think more of yourself than to believe in all the hero hype. Hero's are for those who prefer to follow, those who concede to the challenges that might better occupy your time. I say, enjoy sports, play sport if you are able and so desire, appreciate the athletes and their efforts, but don't take it too seriously, don't make it your everything and sole focus. You are better than that, I hope. Hero's are for suckers! Leave all the hate for the trashy, no class media that are really only out to manipulate your emotions.

Update: Sept.16th 2014 - Adrian Peterson is also being investigated for abusing another of his children. Apparently he hit the boy hard enough to leave a scar on his face. Vikings Management, in standing by their man Peterson, say it's a matter of discipline. He has been re-instated and cleared to play after missing only one week.

Ray Rice on the other hand is still suspended indefinitely. He is currently appealing this ruling.

The confusing message the NFL sends is that it's OK to strip your kids bare and beat them severely to the point of injury, that's just discipline.

But, if you hit your girlfriend of three years and mother of your child, you will be publicly vilified and penalized two times.

Update: Sept. 17th 2014 - The Minnesota Vikings reverse course and have placed Adrian Peterson on the NFL exempt list. He's effectively suspended from all team activities until all of the current child abuse charges are resolved.
