It is time for NFL Football again, The 2016 campaign is set to begin in September after the annual training camps and pre-season games are concluded.
There is a strong influx of new talent getting vetted for the running back position, and for this reason the many available veterans such as Fred Jackson I would stay away from, if you're drafting for a fantasy football league.
There are a few older vets that may still land with an NFL team that may have fantasy value.
I would watch for these guys for sure, if they sign there's a good chance they will play, and keep this in mind...the Dallas Cowboys are desperate to find a solid number two for Tony Romo. There was even a rumor floating around that Jerry Jones offered two number one picks for Andy Dalton, because the Bengals really like A.J. McCarron. They are worried in Big D that Tony will go down again, and at the least will likely miss games. They are desperately beating the bush, as the saying goes, with many teams about acquiring a solid back-up.
Top available Free Agent Veterans:
QB - Matt Flynn
QB - Mike Vick
QB - T. J. Yates
WR - Marques Colston
WR - Roddy White
WR - Riley Cooper
WR - Dwayne Bowe
TE - Owen Daniels
The players I've mentioned above are ones to watch for. While there are many other veterans out there available, I would avoid them. There does seem to be an across the board effort with all 32 teams to flush out the mediocre, and at least try to develop new talent. The thing to watch for now is roster cuts.
