McDonald’s - All Day Every Day Breakfast is Here!

Mark your calendars, set your countdown app, post notes everywhere. Do whatever it is that you've gotta do to remind yourself of an upcoming event of monumental importance.

Because, as of Oct. 6th, McDonald’s will now be serving breakfast all day!

That's right, you will no longer have to hurry before they stop selling the breakfast menu!

McDonald’s announced today that it will begin serving breakfast all day – nationwide.

This announcement comes after a trial run in a few select locations and concluded with a vote by Franchisees last week. McDonald’s will also, implement new safety measures that will aid in the transition.

Mike Andres - President of McDonald’s America Division says that extending breakfast hours is the company’s biggest move since adding the McCafe line of beverages in 2009.

This is the consumers’ idea. This is what they want us to do.”
That’s why I think this could be the catalyst for our turnaround.”
Mike Andres - President of McDonald’s America Division

Customer's have asked for years to get extended hours of their breakfast menu. The problem has always been about space until McDonald’s set about a task force to come up with a way to solve this problem.

All McDonald’s restaurants are built to produce lunch and dinner items that use the same equipment that makes the breakfast items, just not at the same time. So, it has always been a problem of space, until now.

This problem of space has required all Franchisee's to add or change to their current equipment and process set-up. In the process of their test they've developed a smaller rolling cart model which will also carry utensils used just for eggs. These cooking carts can be moved around for a better fit in each of the different McDonald’s kitchens. The restaurant's also needed new toasters. Existing toaster units can only be adjusted to warm hamburger buns or muffins. To accommodate theses changes, most restaurants are now getting the extra toaster ovens, and now these restaurants will be able to do breakfast muffins with one, and use the other oven for burger buns.

Individual restaurant upgrade costs may range from $500 to $5,000 per restaurant, depending on what equipment the franchisee's may already have. Many have already installed their new equipment, and are just counting down the days till... all day-every day breakfast is here!

Extra - To simplify the all-day breakfast roll-out McDonald’s will be offering a limited number of core items, including their sausage burritos, hot cakes and, depending on the region, Egg McMuffins or biscuit sandwiches.

The changes coming should also help the company's bottom line, as there has been healthy sales increases in all of the 200 restaurants that have been testing the new all day breakfast.

Update: Many Restaurants have already Rolled-Out the NEW All Day Breakfast ahead of the Oct. 6th Nationwide Launch.
