Beatles
fans are everywhere and yet there are many who are not aware of
Ringo's contributions.
How
many songs did Ringo sing with The Beatles?
Did
Ringo write any of The Beatles songs?
Did
Ringo Starr himself write any of the Beatles' songs?
The
above are a sampling of popular questions with regard to what Ringo's
contributions were.
The
straight facts are that Ringo wrote only 2 songs for The Beatles,
"Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden."
He
is also credited as a co-writer on 5 other songs: "What Goes On"
- "Flying" - "Christmas Time (Is Here Again)"
- "Dig It" and lastly a song John Lennon said was a
lousy little ol' instrumental track simply called “12-Bar
Original.”
Although
he did not write that many songs for The Beatles he did actually sing
lead vocals on 11 songs, and they are as follows...
Boys,
I Wanna Be Your Man, Matchbox, Honey Don’t, Act Naturally, What
Goes On, Yellow Submarine, With A Little Help From My Friends, Don’t
Pass Me By, Good Night, Octopus’s Garden…and there you have it.
Just the straight facts!

Something to keep in mind...if you get a chance to see Ringo's
All-Starr Band in concert, you should make it a top priority. Put it
at the top of your bucket list. He really is an awesome entertainer
and you'll be treated to 5 or 6 Beatles songs along with his solo
hits and his All-Starr Bands solo hits. His shows are more than just
a show, his concerts are experiences, and there's nothing that
compares to an All-Starr Show with the lovable Ringo getting by with
a little help from his friends.
Although
there are no dates announced as of this posting, he will be releasing
a new album, and will tour later on this year.
