Michelle Branch Hopeless Romantic New Album Out Now!

Four months into the new year, and the new music coming out thus far has not been much to get excited about.

Well be glad you landed here on this blog page, I am going to point you in the right direction, I've found a new album by an artist many have forgotten about, and haven't heard from in many years. Michelle Branch has just released her first album in 14 years and it's called Hopeless Romantic.

The new album came together in 2015-2016 and Michelle finally signed with Verve.

The album was just released on April 7th and it's better than anything she has ever done before. She has developed what she calls her new sound and made it more personal. Her new sound she describes as “laid back rock.”

The album's real strength is in the quality of all of these songs, they are all great. Several will become singles, that I'm sure of. It's a well crafted album with excellent production and musicianship. The vocals are as perfect as all of the songs.

If you're looking for new songs to plug into and be able to play again and again then this album is for you!

The album is so good it will be among the year's best and very likely one of the most talked about.

For more about Michelle's long absence from music follow the link provided, and read the nice piece by Alyse Whitney.

The Original Fast And The Furious 1955 Full Movie

Forget all about Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood, and Michelle Rodriguez...at least until the weekend!

This Fast and Furious Flick is a Roger Corman Classic production from 1955 and stars a guy with one of the coolest names ever, John Ireland. John Ireland plays Frank Webster.

After breaking out of jail, Frank Webster, who's been serving time for a murder he did not commit, is on the run. He quickly gets spotted in a little cafe and has to fight to get away. In his escape he takes hostage a young woman named Connie and her Jaguar.

She tries to escape a few times, which leads him to treat her more roughly than he wanted to, but of course they eventually fall in love. Frank plans to escape into Mexico by entering a race that crosses the border.

The plan never happens as, Connie informs the police. She wants Frank to clear his name, and in the end he finally agrees.

It's a pretty straightforward Roger Corman film from long ago. It is interesting to watch and this film is where the new franchise takes its initial inspiration from. Today's movies rely more on special effects and stunts, but the old classics live on. They have more character and seem to be more real and genuine.

This was a B-Movie that did well and has an excellent cast and direction.

For those of you who love the old classics check it out on YouTube.

In the final closing moments of the film Frank's best line was,
“It isn't what you are that counts...it's what you get taken for.” - Frank Webster

Check it out
Enjoy!

Amazon Launches Amazon Cash

Amazon Launches Amazon Cash, another way to shop its site without a bank card

Amazon recently launched Amazon Cash, a new service that allows consumers to add cash to their Amazon.com balance by showing a bar-code at a participating retailer, then having the cash applied immediately to their online Amazon account. The service supports adding any amount between $15 and $500 in a single transaction.

Amazon Cash is now available at these brick-and-mortar retailers in the U.S. CVS Pharmacy, Speedway, Sheetz, Kum & Go, D&W Fresh Market, Family Fare Supermarkets, and VG’s Grocery. Amazon says that other stores will be added in the future.

Amazon Cash is really aimed at the cash customer. Yes, believe it or not, there’s quite a few folks out there who don’t have a bank account, credit cards or even a debit card. Many of these people don't even shop online and never have. Amazon Cash is just another way for people to experience online shopping without having to worry over issues with credit/debit cards.

More than a quarter of all consumers are still cash consumers, so this new program could be enticing to some of these shoppers.

The new service is for anyone who just wants to deposit some cash in their Amazon.com account, without hassle. The big advantage here is that, as soon as you checkout at the register, the funds are available in the customer’s Amazon account, and there are no fees!

You do need to have an Amazon account and from there go to manage funds and print out your bar-code that can be re-used anytime. I'd keep the barcode scanned in a photo or a file on my phone, but you can also print it out and keep it in your wallet or purse.

Customers only need to show their bar-code to the cashier, and tell them how much cash they want to apply to their account. The cashier then scans the bar-code and the customer pays with their cash.

The funds will be available instantly. Customers are alerted to this via a notification sent to their email or registered phone number with Amazon.

*This is not to be confused with Amazon's Gift cards.
The only bad thing here is the very limited number of retailers taking Amazon Cash. Hopefully it will expand to include many others, including the ones you frequently use.

Cheers!

Another Beatles Hoax - 1958 Liverpool Police Film Believed to Feature Earliest Glimpse of The Beatles

This misleading Billboard headline and subsequent article claims to show The Beatles’ John Lennon and Paul McCartney, along with Paul’s brother Michael, on a rooftop watching the annual Police Horse and Dog Show.

The film is actually a Liverpool police recruitment film from 1958. Michael McCartney says…  “Wow! That could definitely be us.” He went on to say “It was a really big occasion in Liverpool and that’s what we used to do every summer –- take deck chairs and climb onto the concrete shed and watch a free show. And I think there is every chance John would have been there that year – absolutely. His friend, Pete Shotton, was a police cadet. And George could easily have been there, too. It’s bloody mad – absolutely fascinating and unbelievable!”

The complete film runs 41:38 long and is on YouTube. The glimpse of the Beatles comes at 34:33 in the film. The article claims that the footage shows Paul McCartney, along with his brother Michael, and Lennon on a rooftop at their home at 20 Forthlin Road. This brief glimpse may or may not be them, it’s at too far of a distance, and it is a glimpse of only two seconds. This maybe them, but I doubt it. The film also shows the three on a rooftop beginning at 31:52 through 32:05. I just don’t think that these three can be John, Paul and Michael. These boys are much younger than they should have been in 1958. It’s obvious to me that these three young boys are just other persons unknown. Maybe with a bit of publicity on this film, one of them may come forward.

Lastly, I go right back to what Michael McCartney did say...and that was 'That could definitely be us.' You see, he doesn't come right out and say it's them, because most likely it's not. He realizes that someone else might step forward and claim to be these young boys and one would think for sure that if you have good enough memories of these shows, you'd also definitely be able to recall being stopped and questioned on the rooftop. These things lead me to believe that this is just another of those Beatles hoax's that will never be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

See for yourself, and leave a comment with your opinion.
Cheers

How to Display a PDF on Blogger

How To Put PDF or any document on Blogger in easy to follow step by step instructions.

Blogger is a great publishing platform, and it's used by millions every day. There are a few shortcomings with the service, but then again none of the blogging platforms are perfect.

One of the shortcomings with blogger is the lack of plug 'n play support for importing documents or pdf files into a new post.

If you're a Blogger, there may come a time when you want to display a word doc or pdf in a new post. Without already knowing what to do, you'll inevitably start searching google for an easy way to do this.

You can search all day, high and low, but you won't find any better information than what I am going to give you right now.

To embed a pdf follow these simple steps

  1. Upload your file to your Google Drive. ( It would be a good idea to put your blogger pdf's in a separate folder,to help you stay better organized.)
  2. Double click and open your file in Google Drive.
  3. At the top right where there are 3 dots next to the printer and download icons, click and open the 3 dots and select at the top Share.
  4. At the bottom right of the pop-up select advanced.
  5. Where it says...Specific people can access click > change.
  6. At the top of this pop-up select On – Public on the web, and then click save and then click done.
  7. Go back to the 3 dots at the top right side of your file next to the download and printer icons and select the 3 dots and select open in new window.
  8. Finally, select the 3 dots again, at the top right of your file, and this time select embed item. Copy the html code in the pop-up box and select OK.

That's all there is to it, it's very simple and after you've done it a few times you won't need to search for ways to do it.

But, that's not all...once you have your code, go back into Blogger and on your post in edit mode you'll see 2 tabs at the top of your unpublished post, one says compose, and the other says html. Select the html tab, and simply paste your code there.

Prior to publishing your post, you'll want to see it in preview to make sure it all looks the way you want it to. There's a good chance that when you see your post in preview that the pdf is off the page, proportionately too wide and doesn't look right. Not to worry...this is easily fixed by going back to your post in edit mode, and again select the html tab. Open this and look for your pdf html code and there you'll see that your code is probably set to a standard height at 480 and the width at 640. To fix this, just select the number following the width and set that to 580. Changing only the width is all you need to do, then go back and preview it again and you'll see that your file fits perfectly side to side and looks the way it should.

What Songs did Ringo write & sing with The Beatles

Beatles fans are everywhere and yet there are many who are not aware of Ringo's contributions.

How many songs did Ringo sing with The Beatles?
Did Ringo write any of The Beatles songs?
Did Ringo Starr himself write any of the Beatles' songs?

The above are a sampling of popular questions with regard to what Ringo's contributions were.

The straight facts are that Ringo wrote only 2 songs for The Beatles, "Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden."

He is also credited as a co-writer on 5 other songs: "What Goes On" - "Flying" - "Christmas Time (Is Here Again)" - "Dig It" and lastly a song John Lennon said was a lousy little ol' instrumental track simply called “12-Bar Original.”

Although he did not write that many songs for The Beatles he did actually sing lead vocals on 11 songs, and they are as follows...

Boys, I Wanna Be Your Man, Matchbox, Honey Don’t, Act Naturally, What Goes On, Yellow Submarine, With A Little Help From My Friends, Don’t Pass Me By, Good Night, Octopus’s Garden…and there you have it. Just the straight facts!

* Something to keep in mind...if you get a chance to see Ringo's All-Starr Band in concert, you should make it a top priority. Put it at the top of your bucket list. He really is an awesome entertainer and you'll be treated to 5 or 6 Beatles songs along with his solo hits and his All-Starr Bands solo hits. His shows are more than just a show, his concerts are experiences, and there's nothing that compares to an All-Starr Show with the lovable Ringo getting by with a little help from his friends.

Although there are no dates announced as of this posting, he will be releasing a new album, and will tour later on this year.

Stay up to date on all things Ringo here http://www.ringostarr.com/
